    12 Months Before
     
  • Set the date and time
  • Find the ceremony and reception site.
  • Find a reliable officiant.
  • Make your guest list.
  • Figure out your budget
  • Select a caterer, if reception site doesn't include one.
  • Announce your engagement.
  • Interview and select other wedding professionals.  (Photographer, florist, music, baker)
    9 Months Before:
     
  • Ask your attendants to be in the wedding.
  • Choose your wedding dress and attire for your attendants.
  • Register for gifts.
  • Start planning your honeymoon.
    6 Months Before:
     
  • Choose you invitations.
  • Shop for wedding rings.
  • Help mothers shop for their dresses.
  • Finalize honeymoon arrangements.
  • Get necessary bridal accessories. (headpiece, shoes, jewelry)
    4 Months Before:
     
  • Make plans for the wedding rehearsal and dinner.
  • Finalize menu with caterer.
  • Go over the details with all of your wedding professionals.
  • Make hotel arrangements for out-of-town guest.
  • Hire limousine if desired.
    2 Months Before:
     
  • Mail invitations.
  • Send information to news papers.
  • Shop for attendants gifts.
  • Schedule trial runs with your hairdresser and makeup artist.
    6 Weeks Before:
     
  • Have your final dress fitting.
  • Make sure attendants have been fitted.
  • Buy any additional wedding items such as guest book, toasting glasses, cake cutting utensils.
    4 Weeks Before:
     
  • Get marriage license.
  • Reconfirm honeymoon plans.
  • Compile list of favorite songs for reception.
    2 Weeks:
     
  • Finish seating chart, if needed.
  • Confirm plans with wedding officiant and all other wedding professionals.
  • Finalize rehearsal arrangements.
  • Give caterer final headcount.
  • Make ushers aware of any special seating arrangements.
    Day Before:
     
  • Treat your self to a manicure and massage.
  • Attend the wedding rehearsal and dinner.
  • Most importantly, get some rest.
